The Tonfa, Sai, and Nunte are a combined class, and students will work on various aspects using weapons. Forms, Applications and defense against other weapons will be learned as well as various drills to become more proficient.

Kobudo is the Training Method developed in the Ryu Kyu Islands by the natives to  protect themselves with farming and fishing tools. Okinawa is one of these islands and is where the Art of Te’ was created and refined into the modern Art of Karate. Kobudo is a sister Art whereas it uses many of the same stances and movements as Karate except the practitioner uses weapons.

Students can learn the forms and applications (Bunkai) of each weapon. This takes time and careful attention as you are using a weapon. As you progress and learn more, the Kobudo curriculum in Three Dragons Way provides for achieving ranks like Karate. Students must have a Black Karate Gi if they want to test and achieve rank in Kobudo. Students do not have to have a uniform to practice in the workshops, only to test.

As time progresses, Three Dragons Way will teach more Weapons in the Kobudo System, including the Nunte, Kama, Nunchaku, and Eku. All weapons can be purchased or ordered from Sensei Gary Huff. All students are allowed to make or purchase their own weapons for practice; however, any weapons used in our Workshops must be approved by Three Dragons Way. 

Any practice weapons can be purchased from Sensei Huff. He has practiced Kobudo for a long time and has the experience of knowing how to use them as well as being a master woodworker. Practice weapons must be safe for the user as well as the opponents. Approval of practice weapons must follow Three Dragons Way criteria for liability issues as well.
